to use a spinning wheel, learn about yarns and how to make your own
handspun usable yarns. We will explore and understand:
- About the wheel – the parts, types of wheels
- How yarns are made – single, 2 ply…and beyond
- Drafting, speed and controlling twist
- Playing with fibre
- What to do with your first handspun??? – Save it! Use it! It’s one of a kind….It’s beautiful!
Your hand spun yarn can be successfully used in
knitting, crocheting, weaving, tapestry, rug hooking and other needle
or fibre arts.
Note:
Home practice is involved. You will be able to bring the wheel home
